About your therapist
Hi, I'm Maya. I'm so glad you found your way here.
I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and for the past twelve years I've kept company with people moving through the tender middles of their lives — the losses, the changes, the quiet unravelings no one else sees.
How I work
I believe therapy should feel human. In our sessions you'll find warmth before technique, curiosity before conclusions, and plenty of room for laughter — because even the hardest seasons hold moments of lightness.
My work is grounded in relational and somatic approaches. That means we pay attention not only to your story, but to how it lives in your body: the held breath, the tight shoulders, the flutter beneath the ribs. When the body feels safe, the story can finally soften.
What you can expect
- A steady, unhurried pace — trust is built, never rushed.
- Plain language. No jargon, no diagnosis-as-identity.
- Practical tools you can carry into ordinary days.
- A therapist who shows up as a person, not a clipboard.
A little more about me
When I'm not in the therapy room you'll find me on the trails around Asheville, tending an unruly vegetable garden, or making a second pot of tea I'll almost certainly forget to drink. I trained at a placeholder university and hold advanced training in somatic experiencing and grief work — swap this paragraph for the clinician's real bio and credentials.
Wondering if we'd be a good fit?
The best way to know is a short, friendly conversation. No commitment — just a chance to ask questions and feel it out.
